Hiking & Biking Trails

With 41,000 acres of land, much of which is open for public access, trail systems are increasing in popularity at the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District (MWCD) lakes.

The MWCD lakes offer a variety of trail options, including natural surface hiking trails, improved surface hiking and biking trails, and horse trails. Click the name of each lake below to download a printable map.

The Buckeye Trail is a scenic hiking trail system that touches every corner of the state and is more than 1,440 miles long. In addition, Tappan Lake is the regional headquarters for the Buckeye Trail Association.
