Independence Day Weekend
Friday, June 30
5:30-7:30pm – Traveling Craft for Kids – Watch for the traveling gator passing out event schedules and craft kits!
7:30-8:45pm – Family BINGO Night – Visit the Messerly Recreation Center for an evening of fun and prizes!
9-9:30pm – Glow Stick Parade – Meet at Eagle Point Shelter to take part in the parade! Glow sticks will be provided or you can bring your own!
Saturday, July 1
11am-12:30pm – Bandana Wreath Craft for Adults – Make a patriotic wreath at the Messerly Recreation Center. Reservation required at http://mwcd.ticketleap.com. $5 per person.
1:30-2:30pm – Traveling Craft for Kids – Watch for the traveling gator passing out insect craft kits!
3-3:30pm – Water Balloon Fun – Meet at Eagle Point pool for games. Shallow end will be closed during event.
5:30-7pm – Dr. Insecta Magic Show – Meet at the Messerly Recreation Center for a magic show with live animals and learn about these fascinating creatures! For all ages.
7:30-9:30pm – LIVE Music: Oolong Gurus – Bring your blanket and camp chairs to the beach and enjoy the music before the fireworks.
Dusk – FIREWORKS Over the Lake – Enjoy a fireworks display over the lake! Can be seen from land and water. Concessions and glow items will be on sale at the beach.
Sunday, July 2
10:15am – Non-Denominational Church Service at the Messerly Recreation Center.
12-1:30pm – T-shirt Tie Dye – Make a colorful and unique creation in the grass near the Messerly Recreation Center! T-shirts will be available for purchase, cash only. Youth sizes are $8 each, adult sizes are $10 each, 2x and 3x are $12 each. Sizes are first come, first served. *New 2023 t-shirt design*
2-3pm – Red, White, Blue Golf Cart Parade – Decorate your golf cart and meet at the Messerly Recreation Center for a parade. Enter to win a prize!
3:30-5pm – Adult Cornhole Tournament – Meet at the cornhole areas at Eagle Point and Main Camp, near the playground and shelter. Entry fee is $5 per team. Prizes for first and second places!
8:45-10pm – Movie at Eagle Point: Moana – Bring your golf carts and or chairs to pool area at Eagle Point and watch this family-friendly movie. Rated PG and will begin at dusk.
Wednesday, July 5
9-11pm – Moonlight Kayak Tour – Enjoy a kayak tour around Charles Mill Lake by the light of the full moon! Bring your own equipment or borrow ours. For ages 12 and up. Registration is required at https://mwcd.ticketleap.com.
