MWCD is continuing sustainability efforts through the use of solar energy.
Solar panels aredevicesthatconvertsunlightintoelectricity, providingarenewableandcleanenergysource our buildings and water treatment plants. The Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District is advancing renewable energy across our parks and facilities with 16 strategically placed solar arrays.
Approximate total of 770 kW-DC that would power roughly 600 homes/month.
There are 16 projects that include both ground mounted and roof units with one pedestal ‘tracking’ array.
$2.2M design and construction cost.
The MWCD Solar Program is part of a broader plan to modernize infrastructure, model responsible energy use, and demonstrate environmental leadership within the watershed and surrounding communities.
We have created a Solar Dashboard so you can view our solar arrays and explore our energy savings in real-time.
