The MWCD is proud to have several designated water trails within the watershed boundary, including the Kokosing, Mohican, Muskingum River, and Tuscarawas River Water Trails. For more information and detailed maps about each water trail, click the link below.
Ohio Department of Natural Resources has created and oversees a state designated water trail program. This program encourages public access development and maintenance along rivers and around reservoirs, promotes outdoor recreation use in the form of kayaking, canoeing, and stand-up paddleboarding, while increasing awareness of paddling safety and environmental health. For information about the water trails program, visit watercraft.ohiodnr.gov/watertrails.
For more information about what a water trail is and the benefits of a designated water trail, see the Water Trails Fact Sheet.
