Tappan Labor Day Spooktacular
August 29, 2025 - September 1, 2025
Decorate your campsite for Halloween for a chance to win a prize! First and second place prizes awarded! Judging will take place on Sunday at 6pm.
Friday, August 29
4-7pm Traveling Golf Cart – Watch for our staff traveling through the camp areas with program information!
9-11pm Movie at the Lake: – Bring blankets and camp chairs to the beach to watch a movie on the BIG screen! The movie is rated PG and will start at dusk. You can also watch from your golf cart or car. Please park vehicles towards the back. Pack extra layers for the chilly nights!
Saturday, August 30
12pm Wagon Ride Ticket Sales – Tickets for Saturday’s rides will be sold at the Welcome Center. Tickets are $1 each and limit of 4 tickets per person in line. Children 3 and under are free but must have a ticket to ride. Tickets are limited and sold on a ‘’first come-first serve” basis. Limit 20 people per ride.
1-2pm Nature Center Open & Craft for Kids – Stop in anytime to explore the Nature Center and decorate a bag to take with you for trick-or-treat.
3-4pm Costume Parade for Kids – Meet at the Activity Center Shelter to show off your Halloween costume! Top prizes in each age group 0-6, 7-12, and 12-17.
4-5pm Trick-or-Treat – Keep your costume on and walk through the camp areas, stopping at participating campsites collecting treats. Trunk-or-Treat is welcome to setup in the beach parking lot!
6-9pm Wagon Rides – Meet at the beach parking lot near the Area 5 Picnic Shelter 15 minutes prior to your ticket time. Must have ticket to ride.
7-10pm LIVE Music: The Goods – Bring your chair or golf cart to the beach parking lot near the Area 5 Picnic Shelter to listen to the best of the 90’s! You don’t want to miss this band!
8pm Costume Contest for Adults – Meet at the beach parking lot near the Area 5 Picnic Shelter to show off your Halloween costume! Top prizes for male, female, and couple categories! For ages 18+.
9pm Golf Cart Parade – Decorate your golf cart and head to the beach for line up at 8:30pm. Parade will start at 9pm.
Sunday, August 31
9-10am Breakfast with the Birds – Watch the feeders and learn about Ohio’s birds, plus enjoy breakfast treats!
10-11am Halloween Craft for Adults – Create your own spider at the Nature Center. While supplies last.
12-1:30pm Tie Dye T-shirts – Make a colorful and unique creation at the Activity Center Shelter! T-shirts are available for purchase, cash only. Shirts are $10 each. First come, first served.
2-3pm LIVE Animal Show – Join Oglebay Zoo to You at the Activity Center to learn about Ohio’s animals. Kids 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
3:30-4:30pm Kids BINGO – Try your luck at BINGO at the Activity Center. Bring a full-size candy bar.
5-6pm Adult BINGO – Try your luck at BINGO at the Activity Center. Bring a $2 gift.
8-9:30pm Euchre Get-together & Movie – Grab a partner and head to the Activity Center for an evening of euchre! Relax with friendly competition while watching a movie.
