Tappan Independence Day Schedule
July 1, 2025 - July 5, 2025
Tuesday, July 1
10-11am Discovery Club – This weekly program for ages 5-10 will explore the Nature Center and then get outside to discover nature! This week learn about weather. Parents are encouraged to attend.
1-2pm Teen Club: Air Hockey – Bring your friends to the Activity Center to challenge each other to friendly competition with air hockey and indoor games! Group meets weekly with new themes.
Wednesday, July 2
9-10am Brew Crew – Meet at the Nature Center for a morning chat and coffee while watching the feeders. Bring a recipe to add to our group cookbook! For women 16+.
Thursday, July 3
8:30-9:30am Trail Trekkers – Take a guided hike along the Deer Trail with our weekly group! Meet at the boat ramp near Camp Area 1. Be prepared for natural surfaces with sneakers or hiking shoes.
11am-noon Shutterbugs – All ages and camera types are welcome to this weekly photography time! Meet at the Nature Center to learn about wildlife photography and then try it! Meets weekly with a new topic.
5-7:30pm Traveling Golf Cart – Watch for the golf cart as they travel through the camp areas stopping at campsites with program schedules!
8-10pm Knotty Hour Cinema – Learn how to crochet an easy granny square to use in a variety of projects including our community blanket project! Bring a comfy chair to the Activity Center to watch Fall Guy while stitching!
Friday, July 4 Happy Independence Day
10am Bike Decorating – Meet near the Activity Center Shelter to decorate your bike before the parade or you can bring your own decorations from home!
10:30am Bike Parade – Feature your decorated bike in the parade. Meet near the basketball courts. Prizes for top bike in each age group! Parents must accompany children ages 7 and under.
11am-12pm Tie Dye T-shirts – Make a colorful and unique creation at the Activity Center Shelter! T-shirts are available for purchase, cash only. Shirts are $10 each. First come, first served.
1-2pm Sandcastle Building – Bring your imagination, buckets, shovels, and molds to the beach. We will have some available also. Let’s build a kingdom!
7pm LIVE Music: Cody Clayton Eagle Band – Bring your chair or golf cart to the beach to listen to live music until the fireworks show!
DUSK Fireworks Over the Lake – Enjoy fireworks over the lake! Can be seen from land and water.
Saturday, July 5
9-10am Breakfast with the Birds – Watch the birds outside the windows and learn about Ohio’s birds, while enjoying free coffee and breakfast snacks at the Nature Center! While supplies last.
11am-12pm Nature Center Open & Craft for Kids – Visit the Nature Center to make a patriotic wand!
1-2pm Dodgeball Challenge – Play a friendly game of dodgeball at the basketball court. For ages 8+.
4-5pm Patriotic Craft for Adults – Make a patriotic flag decoration at the Nature Center. For ages 13+.
6-7pm Kids BINGO – Try your luck at BINGO at the Activity Center. Bring a full-size candy bar.
7:30-8:30pm Adult BINGO – Meet in the Activity Center and try your luck. Bring a $2 gift.
9pm Tappan Golf Cart Parade – Decorate your golf cart and line up at 8:30pm at the beach.
