Atwood Vessel Safety Check – West Marina
May 9 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Are You Ready for a Boating Season? Make sure with a Vessel Safety Check!
Bring your boat, fully prepped for a typical boat outing, and have an Ohio Natural Resources Officer or MWCD Ranger check your boat and equipment for the legally required items. It’s a great way to ensure the boat (and trailer!) are ready for the boating season.
What it takes to pass a vessel safety check and get your VSC decal:
- Check the Ohio Required Equipment charts for your type of boat.
It’s best to do this well in advance of your boat outing to be sure all items required by law make it back on to your boat after winter storage. - Prepare your boat with the required equipment as if you were about to go boating* and bring it to the scheduled Vessel Safety Check location. *If you missed something, the officers couldn’t let you go boating without it. So treat it like a run-through for a real trip.
If this date doesn’t work – Find a Vessel Safety Checks near you or call a Parks & Watercraft Office during business hours to find out where and when you can bring your boat to an officer.
The US Coast Guard Auxiliary also offers the service. Find your local auxiliary online.
