MWCD Invites You to Capture the Canvas for a Chance to Win Prizes!
Beginning Memorial Day Weekend, May 23 through Labor Day, September 1, 2025 you’re encouraged to “Capture the Canvas”! This event is sponsored by Encino Energy.

Find a canvas, “check-in” to the trail, and post a picture of the canvas on your check-in to win a prize! You are encouraged to try and find all five canvases at each of the MWCD parks. (One entry per person, per park.) The first 200 participants to check-in/ post a picture will receive a custom, MWCD hiking stick medallion and all participants with three entries, or more, from different parks will receive a hiking stick! A representative from MWCD will email you to arrange pickup of medallions and hiking sticks.
MWCD partnered with five local schools to encourage residents to get outdoors and explore the trails at MWCD parks. Students painted canvases that will be on display on trails throughout the district. Participating schools and the locations of their artwork are:
