DESCRIPTION:11am-1pm         Winter Hike & Soup – Explore the hiking trails at Tappan Lake our annual Winter Hike! Stop by the Activity Center to pick up a map with suggested routes to hike on your own or join MWCD staff for a guided group hike along the Deer Trail. Guided hike will leave the Activity Center promptly at 11:15am. Warm up in the Activity Center with soups\, coffee\, and hot chocolate between 11am and 1pm. Registration is strongly suggested to help us have enough food for the crowd. Register and purchase a souvenir soup bowl at https://mwcd.ticketleap.com \nBe prepared for natural surface hiking trails with moderate to steep inclines by wearing hiking shoes/boots\, bringing a bottle of water. In case of snow or ice\, the guided group hike may take place on the Beach Trail. \n2-3pm         What’s that Bird? Birding 101 – Meet in the Nature Center to use the bird feeding station and presentation to learn about bird ID and birdfeeding tips for beginners and people who want to learn more! \n4-5pm         Knotty Hour Kick-off – NEW PROGRAM for 2024! Bring your current crochet\, knit\, embroidery\, or other craft project and enjoy social time! DESCRIPTION:Get ready for some messy fun and leave the cleanup to up! Enjoy a one-day camp for kids\, ages 6-10\, to explore water beads\, shaving cream art\, ooblek\, tie dye\, and other messy activities at Tappan Lake Park! Camp will also include traditional camp games. Come in clothes that can get messy! Santa will be available for pictures\, bring your own camera. \n10am          Traveling Santa – Watch for the golf cart with Santa! DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, June 8\n10-11:30am – Tots in the Park – Join us at the Nature Center to explore what sinks and what floats! Learn about animals that live in the water. Program designed for ages 3-7 with an adult. \nFriday\, June 9\n4-6pm – Traveling Nature Program – Watch for the golf cart traveling through the camp areas with fun nature items. \n7-8pm – Guided Nature Hike – Meet near the boat ramp in Area 1 to hike the Deer Trail and look for birds\, butterflies\, and other exciting plants and animals! Be prepared for a natural surface trail by wearing hiking shoes/boots or sneakers. Kids must be accompanied by an adult. \nSaturday\, June 10\n9-10am – Breakfast with the Birds – Visit the Nature Center and watch the birds at the birdfeeders. Enjoy breakfast treats\, coffee\, and learn about Ohio’s birds! \n11am-12pm – Nature Center Open & Craft for All Ages – Explore the Nature Center and make a stress ball to take home! \n1-3pm – Ranger Day – Meet MWCD Rangers and law enforcement officers from local agencies at Tappan Lake Park! Complete an obstacle course\, enjoy activities and giveaways\, take your photo\, and ask questions. Look for the Rangers near the beach parking area.   \n2-4pm – Water Games – Meet near the sports courts and dress to get wet with fun water games! \n6-7pm – Adult BINGO – Try your luck at BINGO at the Activity Center. Bring a $2 gift. \n8-11pm – DJ Ronnie B – Meet at the sports courts for music and games. \nSunday\, June 11\n10am-12pm – Nature Center Open & Nature Activity – Explore the Nature Center and discover how insects grow! \n1pm – Tappan Recycling – Have your aluminum cans by lot post by 1pm! All recycling benefits programs.
