DESCRIPTION:8am-5:30pm       Ohio Boating Education Course – Ohio law requires this course for anyone born on or after January 1\, 1982 in order to operate any powered watercraft greater than 10 horsepower. This FREE course will be led by MWCD Rangers and certified staff. Students must attend the entire course\, 8am to 5pm\, and pass a proficiency exam. Registration is required at MWCD.org/tickets. \n10-11am            Nature Center Open and Tree Craft – Explore the Nature Center and learn about upcoming programs. Also learn about Ohio’s trees and make a craft! \n10am-12pm        Earth Day Clean-up – Stop by the Activity Center for gloves and trash bags\, then pick-up map for areas for litter throughout the park & lake! Bring the bags back and receive a coupon for a FREE night of daily camping! \n12:30-1:30pm     Flower Coaster for Adults – Paint a cute spring decoration at the Nature Center! For ages 13+. \n2-3pm               Adult BINGO – Meet at the Activity Center for fun and games! Bring a $2 gift. \n  \nApril 19-April 27 Earth Day Clean-up Challenge  \nCelebrate Earth Day by visiting the lake on your own to pick up litter. SUMMARY:Tappan Hunter Education Course
DESCRIPTION:The Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District staff will be this FREE two-day course\, instructor-led course. Participants much attend both days\, for a total of about 12 hours\, in a relaxed classroom environment with hands-on learning. \nLocation: Tappan Lake Park’s Welcome Center \nSaturday\, March 15    9am-4pm \nSunday\, March 16     9am-4pm \nWe will offer a lunch break each day. Please bring your own food as there are no nearby restaurant options. Coffee and snacks will be provided. Register by clicking the link below and searching for Hunter Education > Classroom > Deersville. \nCLICK HERE TO REGISTER\n\nCertified volunteers and MWCD staff will be there to teach the courses. They are specially trained by the ODNR and highly qualified to help you learn. Instructors will cover a range of topics\, from conservation\, safety\, and ethics to the proper handling of shotguns\, handguns\, bowhunting gear\, and more. You should not bring firearms or archery equipment to class – all necessary equipment will be provided. \n\n\nOnce you’ve completed the course work\, you will be given a 100-question test which includes a multiple choice questions. A student must score 75% or higher on the test to pass and obtain certification. Hunter education is a requirement for all first-time license buyers in Ohio\, except those who hunt with an apprentice license.

Must have ticket to ride. Plus\, hang out and enjoy DJ music and yard games! \n  \nSunday\, July 21        \n1-4pm         Santa Paddle – Cool off with the Santa scavenger paddle around Tappan Lake! Parents must accompany children ages 7 and under. \n1-2pm        Knotty Hour: Granny Square Project – Learn how to crochet an easy granny square to use in a variety of projects including our community blanket project!
