DESCRIPTION:Explore the hiking trails at Tappan Lake our annual Winter Hike! Stop by the Activity Center to pick up a map with suggested routes to hike on your own or join MWCD staff for a guided group hike along the Deer Trail. Guided hike will leave the Activity Center promptly at 10:45am. After your hike\, warm up in the Activity Center with soups\, coffee\, and hot chocolate between 11am and 1pm. Registration is strongly suggested to help us have enough food for the crowd. Register at MWCD.org/tickets \nBe prepared for natural surface hiking trails with moderate to steep inclines by wearing hiking shoes/boots\, bringing a bottle of water. Pack extra layers for the chilly nights! \n  \nSaturday\, August 30 \n12pm            Wagon Ride Ticket Sales – Tickets for Saturday’s rides will be sold at the Welcome Center. Tickets are $1 each and limit of 4 tickets per person in line. Children 3 and under are free but must have a ticket to ride. Tickets are limited and sold on a ‘’first come-first serve” basis. Limit 20 people per ride. \n1-2pm           Nature Center Open & Craft for Kids – Stop in anytime to explore the Nature Center and decorate a bag to take with you for trick-or-treat. \n3-4pm              Costume Parade for Kids – Meet at the Activity Center Shelter to show off your Halloween costume! Top prizes in each age group 0-6\, 7-12\, and 12-17. \n4-5pm           Trick-or-Treat – Keep your costume on and walk through the camp areas\, stopping at participating campsites collecting treats. Meets weekly with a new topic. \n5-7:30pm      Traveling Golf Cart – Watch for the golf cart as they travel through the camp areas stopping at campsites with program schedules! \n8-10pm         Knotty Hour Cinema – Learn how to crochet an easy granny square to use in a variety of projects including our community blanket project! Bring a comfy chair to the Activity Center to watch Fall Guy while stitching! \n  \nFriday\, July 4               Happy Independence Day \n10am           Bike Decorating – Meet near the Activity Center Shelter to decorate your bike before the parade or you can bring your own decorations from home! \n10:30am       Bike Parade – Feature your decorated bike in the parade. Meet near the basketball courts. Prizes for top bike in each age group! Parents must accompany children ages 7 and under. \n11am-12pm   Tie Dye T-shirts – Make a colorful and unique creation at the Activity Center Shelter! T-shirts are available for purchase\, cash only. Shirts are $10 each. First come\, first served. \n1-2pm          Sandcastle Building – Bring your imagination\, buckets\, shovels\, and molds to the beach. We will have some available also. Let’s build a kingdom! \n7pm                LIVE Music: Cody Clayton Eagle Band – Bring your chair or golf cart to the beach to listen to live music until the fireworks show! \nDUSK           Fireworks Over the Lake – Enjoy fireworks over the lake! Can be seen from land and water. \n  \nSaturday\, July 5           \n9-10am         Breakfast with the Birds – Watch the birds outside the windows and learn about Ohio’s birds\, while enjoying free coffee and breakfast snacks at the Nature Center! While supplies last. \n11am-12pm   Nature Center Open & Craft for Kids – Visit the Nature Center to make a patriotic wand! \n1-2pm          Dodgeball Challenge – Play a friendly game of dodgeball at the basketball court. For ages 8+. \n4-5pm          Patriotic Craft for Adults – Make a patriotic flag decoration at the Nature Center. For ages 13+. \n6-7pm          Kids BINGO – Try your luck at BINGO at the Activity Center. Bring a full-size candy bar. \n7:30-8:30pm  Adult BINGO – Meet in the Activity Center and try your luck. Bring a $2 gift. \n9pm             Tappan Golf Cart Parade – Decorate your golf cart and line up at 8:30pm at the beach.

Dogs must be friendly to people and other dogs\, on a leash\, and cleaned up after. \n5-6pm         Adult BINGO – Try your luck at BINGO at the Activity Center. Bring a $2 gift. \n7-8pm         Hot Dog Swim – Bring your dog to the beach and to cool off in the water! The swim beach will be closed to people. Dogs must be friendly to people and other dogs\, on a leash\, and cleaned up after. \n7:30pm         Treat Treasure Hunt – Search for hidden dog treats at the beach!
