SUMMARY:Ohio Boater Education Course for Kids at Pleasant Hill Lake Park
DESCRIPTION:    \nAll newer boaters must pass an Ohio Boating Education Course (OBEC) before getting behind the wheel. Boat operators born on or after January 1\, 1982\, must complete a boating course or pass a proficiency exam. Classroom boating courses offer hands-on instruction with audio and visual materials and give boaters a chance to ask questions directly to an instructor. Topics include knowing your boat\, operating safely\, legal requirements\, and boating emergencies. The Course will be team-taught by certified Instructors along with MWCD and ODNR officers\, which include a minimum of eight hours of teaching and a written exam.\n\n\nFREE OBEC for KIDS 2-Day Course is Jun 20-21\, 2023\nThe two-day kid’s course for ages 12-16 years is designed to have classroom time in the morning and then use the afternoon to reinforce the topics with hands-on experience with paddleboats (Kayaks) and power boats (Pontoons Boats) and review course objectives. The focus is to spread out the topics and allow more time for review with actual on-water experiences.\n\n\nClass held in the Welcome Center Building at Pleasant Hill Lake Park\n\n\nClass from 9:00 am-5:00 pm each day (8-hour course with a break for lunch)\n\n\nBring your own lunch and water.\n\n\nThe course is FREE and limited to 25 persons\n\n\nPre-registration is required at the ” Register Now” link below\n\n\nREGISTER NOW\n\n

SUMMARY:Ohio Boater Education Course at Pleasant Hill Lake Park
DESCRIPTION:All newer boaters must pass an Ohio Boating Education Course (OBEC) before getting behind the wheel. Boat operators born on or after January 1\, 1982\, must complete a boating course or pass a proficiency exam. Classroom boating courses offer hands-on instruction with audio and visual materials and give boaters a chance to ask questions directly to an instructor. Topics include knowing your boat\, operating safely\, legal requirements\, and boating emergencies. The Course will be team-taught by certified Instructors along with MWCD and ODNR officers\, which include a minimum of eight hours of teaching and a written exam.\n\nOBEC 1-Day Course on Apr 22\, 2023\nThe one-day course is open for ages 12 and older and is designed to have classroom time in an open setting with lecture and audio-visual aids to review the topics before the written test at the end of the day.\n\n\nClass held in the Welcome Center Building at Pleasant Hill Lake Park\n\n\nClass from 9:00 am-5:00 pm (8-hour course with a break for lunch)\n\n\nBring your own lunch. There is a store with drinks and snacks\n\n\nThe course is FREE and limited to 25 persons\n\n\nAnyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult\n\n\nPre-registration is required at the ” Register Now” link below\n\n\nREGISTER NOW\n

SUMMARY:Ohio Hunter Education Course at Pleasant Hill Lake Park - FULL
DESCRIPTION:  \nThe Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District (MWCD) staff will be offering this FREE two-day course\, instructor-led course. Participants much attend both days\, for a total of about 12 hours\, in a classroom environment. Participants must be able to sit in a classroom setting and follow instructions. Test is written at a 4th grade level and must score 75 out of 100 multiple choice correctly to pass. \nPleasant Hill Lake Park\, Welcome Center Building\nMarch 25-26\, 2023 \n9a-5p each day\nThere will be a lunch break each day. Please bring your own food as there are no nearby restaurant options. Coffee and snacks will be provided. Registration is full. \n\nAn additional course will be held at Charles Mill Lake Park in October. Registration will open later in 2023. \nCertified volunteers and MWCD staff will be there to teach the courses. They are specially trained by the ODNR and highly qualified to help you learn. Instructors will cover a range of topics\, from conservation\, safety\, and ethics to the proper handling of shotguns\, handguns\, bowhunting gear\, and more. You should not bring firearms or archery equipment to class – all necessary equipment will be provided.\nOnce you’ve completed the coursework\, you will be given a 100-question test which includes multiple-choice questions. A student must score 75% or higher on the test to pass and obtain certification. Hunter education is a requirement for all first-time license buyers in Ohio\, except those who hunt with an apprentice license.
