2016- Kovalchik Logjam Removal- Valley Township
General
Problem Description
The debris removal project that we are targeting for this project is located in the Buffalo Fork/Creek area off of State Route 821(Marietta Road). This jam has grown in size and now strangling water flow through the creek.
Solution Description
The success of this project will be determined by the decrease in flooding issues during the periods of heavy rain with the primary benefactors being the residents along St. Route 821 (Marietta Road) Valley Township and Pleasant Hill. Valley Township will be using the Guernsey County Community Development Corporations (CDC) labor crews for this work. The CDC has the manpower and equipment necessary to complete this daunting task. In addition its' workforce development program helps individuals who have suffered from long-term unemployment by giving them the training skills necessary to seek employment in the construction industry and labor industry.
