2015 Muskingum River Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) Lift Station - City of Marietta

Problem Description

The City of Marietta requested financial assistance to upgrade the Harmar Lift Station, eliminate a sanitary sewer overflow, and replace an existing 10" force main sewer with an 18" main.  The upgraded lift station and increased capacity force main will reduce inflow and infiltration and reduce flooding.

Solution Description

This wastewater system project will have an immediate positive impact on water quality.  The existing sanitary sewer overflow will be eliminated.

This wastewater system project will have an immediate water quality impact directly on the Muskingum River.  Additionally, the increased capacity force main will reduce flooding.  This project aligns well with the MWCD's mission and authorities granted within the Amendment to the Official Plan.

Location Information

The Harmar Lift Station is located along the Muskingum River in the City of Marietta, Washington County.
