2012 Stark Parks Fry Family Park Acquisition
Stark Parks requested financial assistance to purchase approximately 81 acres for the creation of Fry Family Park near the Village of East Sparta. The project represents the third phase of acquisitions necessary to secure nearly 350 acres of the Fry Family Park.
Acquisition of this property, to be managed and protected by Stark Parks, ensures future conservation and habitat preservation while providing passive recreation opportunities to the residents of Stark, Tuscarawas, and Carroll Counties.
The PWM grant will help supplement a $70,000 grant that Stark Parks has obtained through the Ohio Department of Natural Resources for the acquisition of this property.
Total Project Cost: $2,270,665
Requested Grant: $ 250,000
Recommended Grant: $ 250,000
