Fireworks Update at MWCD Parks

August 7, 2020

As far as weather goes, Ohio has been fortunate to have had a warm, dry summer to allow residents to get out of the house and enjoy outdoor recreation opportunities in the area. Not only good for physical health, but also mental health as we continue to navigate the impacts of COVID-19. MWCD parks and marinas have been busy, full of campers, boaters, and beach goers who continue to enjoy what the lakes have to offer, all while maintaining social distance. Although we were hopeful that by the end of summer COVID-19 would have subsided enough to where we felt comfortable to offer Labor Day firework displays at Charles Mill and Pleasant Hill Lakes as planned, unfortunately it has not.

We continue to follow guidance and requirements from public health officials when making decisions about events at MWCD parks, and it is with that in mind we need to cancel all fireworks displays. This year has been full of new policies, procedures, and hard decisions, but we will continue to keep the safety of our employees and guests as top priority. As always, thank you for your continued patronage and patience.
