UPDATE: MWCD campgrounds and marinas will be closed to the public through May 1, 2020

April 3, 2020

The Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District (MWCD) prioritizes the safety and health of our community: the visitors we serve, our employees, volunteers, and neighbors. Due to Coronavirus (COVID-19), we are committed to aligning operations with the orders/ recommendations of national, state, and local public health experts. Due to Ohio Governor, Mike DeWine’s extension to the Stay at Home Order, the MWCD campgrounds and marinas will remain closed to the public until Friday, May 1, 2020.  We will continue to follow the guidance provided by ODH and provide an update should this order be extended.

Please review Frequently Asked Questions Regarding MWCD Operations During COVID-19.

This decision was not easy and is in response to an order directed by the State of Ohio Health Department. The health of our employees and guests is top priority. In order to maintain our high standards of cleanliness in our restroom/ shower buildings, along with the maintenance and administrative staff required to operate the campgrounds, it is necessary to suspend camping and marina operations. Our buildings are closed to the public, as well as playgrounds, but trails and public boat launch ramps are still open, though restrooms will be closed. Vacation cabins, and park model cabin reservations have been cancelled through May 1, 2020. Anyone with an existing reservation during this period has been notified, and refunds will be provided. Anyone with a daily camping reservation will be refunded, and a refund policy has been developed for seasonal campers.

The lottery for seasonal campers has been postponed until May 2, 2020.

Law Enforcement will continue to patrol and provide aid to the public and minimal park staff will be onsite to fulfill essential duties.

We look forward to serving the public once this advisory has been lifted. Thank you for your continued patience and stay healthy.
