MWCD Response to the Coronavirus

March 11, 2020

One of the values of the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District (MWCD) is safety. We foster a culture of safety to ensure protection of our customers, our partners and each other. In light of the rapidly developing situation of COVID-19 or coronavirus, we are carefully monitoring the situation and are in contact with health agencies for information and guidance. To protect you, we have been working to keep our facilities clean, and our staff prepared. Our usual cleaning procedure has always utilized hospital-grade disinfectants effective against viruses. Under the current circumstances, we have since ramped up those efforts by cleaning common touch-points on a more frequent basis. We will continue to monitor and screen our operational protocols so that we can effectively adapt to changes as they occur.

The CDC recommends everyday preventive actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory illnesses like coronavirus/COVID-19, such as:

  • Staying home when sick
  • Washing hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
  • Following proper respiratory cough etiquette
  • Avoiding close contact with people who are sick
  • Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands

Please monitor the MWCD website and Facebook page for any updates, cancellations, or event changes.
