Improvements To Tappan Lake Marina Are Set To Begin This Fall

August 26, 2019

Construction will begin at Tappan Lake Marina this fall, however the schedule is currently being adjusted as a result of the bids submitted by contractors being over budget. The bids were high due to the complexity of the project and timeline initially established. The MWCD is dedicated to being good stewards of resources, and are evaluating opportunities to complete construction within the budget approved by the MWCD Board of Directors.

“No significant changes in the original scope of the project are anticipated” says Boris Slogar, Chief Engineer for the MWCD. “Construction will be divided into multiple contracts, the timeline will be extended, and value engineering improvements will allow contractor bids to come in closer to budget. The improvements are highly anticipated by staff, Tappan Lake guests, and surrounding community. The MWCD is committed to this project to improve accessibility and user experience, and the investment to better the economy in the area. As timelines are finalized, information will be shared with the public.”
