The Longest Dam 5K Race and Fun Run at Bolivar Dam Oct 21

In celebration of the completion of the multi-year Bolivar Dam maintenance project the US Army Corps of Engineers in conjunction with the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District are sponsoring the first ever Longest Dam 5k and Fun Run hosted by the Lions Club of Bolivar.  The 4,500 foot long Bolivar dam is literally the longest dam owned and operated by the US Army Corps of Engineers in the Muskingum River watershed. The race starts at 9:00 am

On-line pre-registration is $20 for runners and $12 for Fun Run and Walkers through Eventbrite at

On-site registration on the day of the race is from 8:00am-8:45am and is $25 for the 5K and $12 for Fun Run and Walkers. All proceeds benefit the Bolivar Lions Club. All registrants receive a free T-shirt.

Award medals will be given to the top overall male and female along with 1st, 2nd and 3rd place male and female in the age divisions which include:

  • 14 and under
  • 15-19
  • 20-29
  • 30-39
  • 40-49
  • 50-59
  • 60 and over

The course includes asphalt, grass, and concrete surfaces. Parking for the event is located off OH-212 just east of Exit 93 on Interstate 77. The address of the dam is 11614 Glenpark Road NE Bolivar, Ohio.
