Atwood Lake Park opens May 27 for summer season

The Memorial Day Holiday Weekend is a perfect opportunity to visit Atwood Lake and Atwood Lake Park. And the whole family can enjoy a day at the park since admission is only $5 per vehicle!
Plenty of activities are planned during the Memorial Day holiday (May 27-30) this weekend as Atwood Lake Park officially opens for summer. Activities are planned all summer long through the Labor Day holiday weekend.
A wide variety of activities and events can be found at the park, which kicks off its summer events season on May 27 (Friday). Crafts, games, activities, fishing, nature hikes, the park’s nature center and much more are planned throughout the summer. The park’s swimming beach also opens for the summer season on Friday and camping is available all year long.
Visitors planning to spend a day at the beach or enjoying the other activities available inside the park are admitted for a cost of $5 per vehicle. Season passes are available for $50 per vehicle. The park is open 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily and the beach is open seven days a week from noon to 8 p.m.
Camping also is available at a cost of $32.25 per night for a full hookup (includes electric and sewer service), $27 and $25 per night for a site with electric and $25 per night for a primitive site. Discounts apply for stays of at least 30 days. Group camping also is available. Reservations can be made by calling the park at (330) 343-6780 or by sending an e-mail to for availability and details.
The park also features two-bedroom family vacation cabins that sleep up to six people and include air conditioning, along with patio cabins with air conditioning. Overnight boat docking also can be purchased by guests of the park who are camping or staying in a cabin. The park offers rentals of its picnic shelters for $40 each for small shelters and $80 each for large shelters.
Atwood Lake Park also is the home to the 24th Annual Alive Festival, a Christian music and event festival, scheduled June 22-25. For details about the event and tickets, visit www.alive.org.
