ACTIVITIES for Independence Day WEEKEND July 1-4,2022

Pick up a list of self-directed activities available to help you explore the park on your own during your visit. Our Park and Naturalist staff are available to assist with any self-directed activities, maps, questions, or programs you may have.

Welcome Center Hours: Sun thru Thurs.-8am-4pm -Fri and Sat - 8am-10pm

Friday, July 1st

6p-8p- Naturalist On-Duty: Nature Room OPEN. Come see & help feed the LIVE animals. Visit the fish mural, history exhibit, bird observation window & view a short orientation during your visit. Check out the NEW Bigfoot Display area and relax on the deck.

6:30p- Osprey Wagon Tours Enjoy a FREE Naturalist-led wagon tour to visit two of our nesting Osprey nests here at the park. Learn about these unique birds of prey and other wildlife and history of Pleasant Hill Lake Park. Limited seating. Sign up to reserve your free spot on the wagon at Welcome Center.

Saturday, July 2nd

9a-11a- Naturalist On-Duty Nature Room OPEN. Come see & help feed the LIVE animals. Visit the fish mural, history exhibit, bird observation window & view a short orientation during your visit. Check out the NEW Bigfoot Display area and relax on the deck

10a-1p- Family Crafts Bring the whole family and enjoy making your own nature-themed craft. Complete materials and directions to make and take home. Limited supplies so sign up for a time slot at the Welcome Center desk.

1p-3p- Stream Fun and Critter Collection Help Naturalists collect stream critters and then feed the animals in the nature room. Dress to get wet. We will provide nets, bottles and magnify glasses. Free program

6p-9pm- LIVE Country Rock Music Join us for live musical entertainment on stage at the swim beach. Summer Concerts Series are open to the public and free with gate admission or camping. LIVE Band “Callunall Rednecks”, performing Rock/Country Music. Sit back and relax and listen to the music.

Sunday, July 3rd

9:00p-11p-Movie at the Lake Rated (PG) Shown outdoors on the BIG Screen at the beach. Bring your own chairs and blankets.

Monday, July 4th

10a-11:00a – Nature Hike: Join our naturalist for a leisurely one-mile hike on our nature trail, exploring the natural history, plants, and wildlife along the way. Meet at the welcome center deck area.

8p-10p- Twilight Kayaking Enjoy a kayak tour of Pleasant Hill Lake and watch the sunset over the lake! Bring your own equipment or borrow ours. Kayak, paddle, life jacket, and light provided. Ages 12+ Reserve online at mwcd.org
