![]() The Walhonding Region is comprised of Ashland, Richland, Knox and portions of Wayne, Holmes and Coshocton counties. The reservoir system in this region includes Charles Mill, Mohicanville, Mohawk, North Branch Kokosing and Pleasant Hill. Thriving businesses and industies in these counties receive flood reduction and protection, helping provide a strong tax base and employment options for the region. Homes located near streams and tributaries that eventually drain into the Walhonding River are also provided with flood reduction and protection. Low-lying agricultural fields, particularly in Coshocton, Holmes and Wayne counties, benefit from flood-control measures to help protect crops. MWCD’s reforestation program plays a strong role in the timber industry, erosion reduction and maintaining a healthy wildlife population. |
