Boating
Perhaps nowhere are the recreational opportunities of the lakes of the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District (MWCD) more evident than the boats on the water.
Boating is a very popular activity at the lakes, with varying sizes and types of boats found on the lakes, especially from early spring through late fall each year.
Sailboats, pontoon boats, fishing boats, canoes and kayaks are routinely sighted at the MWCD lakes. During the summer months and on summer weekends, the lakes can be filled with boats traveling up and down the individual lakes.
To enhance the availability of boating for visitors, the MWCD offers free public boat launch ramps at its lakes. Lake map brochures also are published and distributed free, including on this website.
Enforcement of boating laws and rules is shared by the MWCD through its lake ranger patrol and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources' (ODNR) Division of Watercraft.
