Required Ohio Boaters Education Course Offered at Tappan Lake May 21st

Ohio law requires completion of an approved boating safety education course for operation of any powered watercraft greater than 10 horsepower if born on or after January 1, 1982. An 8 hour course will be offered on May 21st from 8am-5pm at the Tappan Lake Park Activity Center in Harrison County which is a Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District facility.  This class was designed by ODNR Division of Watercraft and covers the fundamentals of safe boating: state-required equipment, watercraft laws, navigation Rules of the Road, basic safety and risk management, and aids to navigation. Classes are enhanced with videos, slides, overheads, handouts, and other visual aids. Reservations for this free course can be made by calling 740-922-3649.
