Charles Mill lake Park to host fireworks show Saturday, July 2

Charles Mill Lake Park is ready for the Fourth of July holiday weekend. And it will be a real blast as usual.

 

The popular park and campground will host its annual giant fireworks show on Saturday night (July 2) at dark. It’s part of a full weekend of activities, events and entertainment.

 

Events begin Thursday night (June 30) with a fitness walk at 7 p.m. and then an adult aerobic swim fitness session at 8 p.m. in the swimming pool at the Eagle Point campground. On Friday night (July 1) enjoy bingo for children and adults at 7 p.m. at the park’s Eagle Point shelter.

 

Things heat up on Saturday (July 2) with kids’ events at noon, followed by carnival games for children at 2 p.m. at the park’s swimming beach. Inflatable fun for children is planned from 3:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the beach and music by “BnD” is scheduled at 4 p.m. The band “Loosely Strung” will play at 7 p.m.

 

The fireworks show follows at dark.

 

On Sunday (July 3), a Red, White and Blue hat decoration contest and parade are planned at noon at the Eagle Point campground pool area. A corn hole contest is scheduled at 2:30 p.m., an adult craft at 3 p.m., kids’ kickball game at 4 p.m. and karaoke and dancing at 7:30 p.m.

 

The park is open 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily and the beach is open daily from noon to 8 p.m.

 

Camping also is available at a cost of $29 per night for sites that include electric service and $27 per night for sites without electric. Discounts apply for stays of at least 30 days. The park also features patio cabins with air conditioning. Overnight boat docking also can be purchased by guests of the park.

 

The park offers rentals of its picnic shelters for $40 each for small shelters and $80 each for large shelters.
