Summer 'arrives' this weekend at Charles Mill Lake Park
Charles Mill Lake Park is ready for summer.
The popular park and campground officially will open for the summer season Friday (May 27), just in time for the Memorial Day holiday weekend. Plenty of activities are planned during the holiday weekend May 27-30, as well as during upcoming weeks and on weekends through Labor Day in September.
To kick off the summer activities, a variety of events are planned during the weekend, including the opening of the park beach on Friday. Other events and activities planned include crafts, games, tournaments, music, a kids’ bike parade and much more.
Plenty of other events also are planned all weekend and throughout the summer season.
Visitors planning to spend a day at the beach or to enjoy the other activities available inside the park are admitted for a cost of $5 per vehicle. Season passes are available for $50 per vehicle. The park is open 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily and the beach is open daily from noon to 8 p.m.
Camping also is available at a cost of $29 per night for sites that include electric service and $27 per night for sites without electric. Discounts apply for stays of at least 30 days. Reservations can be made by calling the park at (419) 368-6885 or by sending an e-mail to charlesmill@mwcd.org to check availability.
The park also features patio cabins with air conditioning. Overnight boat docking also can be purchased by guests of the park.
The park offers rentals of its picnic shelters for $40 each for small shelters and $80 each for large shelters.
