Plan now for final fireworks show of summer Sept. 4 at Atwood Park
There is one big blast of summer left at Atwood Lake Park.
The park will host a giant Labor Day celebration fireworks show at dark on Saturday, Sept. 4.
The fireworks show will be part of the park's holiday weekend events. A band will play at the beach earlier in the evening, followed by fireworks at dark. On Sunday, Sept. 5, the park will host the "Atwood Olympics" that is open to all members of the family.
Camping will be available all weekend long at the park and the swimming beach also will be open. Admission to the park for those visiting for a day is $5 per vehicle.
As a reminder, camping is available all year long at Atwood Lake Park and all five of the MWCD lake parks (the other four lake parks are at Charles Mill, Pleasant Hill, Seneca and Tappan lakes). Events at the five lake parks are in full swing from Memorial Day through Labor Day weekends.
The Atwood Area Fall Festival is scheduled Oct. 1, 2 and 3 this year at Atwood Lake Park.
