May 25, 2010

Summer has arrived!

The Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District (MWCD) is ready to celebrate the kickoff to the 2010 summer season over the Memorial Day holiday weekend (May 28-31).

The five MWCD lake parks - located at Atwood, Charles Mill, Pleasant Hill, Seneca and Tappan lakes - open for the full summer season on Friday, May 28. Activities are planned all weekend and all summer long through the Labor Day holiday weekend.

Visitors planning to spend a day at the swimming beaches at each park or enjoy the other activities available are admitted for the cost of only $5 per vehicle. Season passes are available for $50 per vehicle. The five lake parks are open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily and the beaches are open from noon to 8 p.m.

Camping also is available at each MWCD lake park. Details and rates are available at this link: /upload/documents/recreation/RECREATION_camping_rates_2010_5.17.2010.pdf

Complete schedules of events and other information are available by visiting the page of your favorite MWCD lake park: /places/parks

The MWCD also manages campgrounds at other lakes, including at Leesville Southfork, Piedmont Marina and the Kokosing Campground.

It should be another exciting season at the MWCD lake parks and campgrounds. We look forward to seeing you soon!
