MWCD Seeks Applicants for Open Advisory Committee Seats

The Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District is seeking applicants to fill three upcoming openings on its Development Advisory Committee.

The 18-member DAC serves in an advisory capacity to the MWCD’s Board of Directors and staff. Members volunteer their time and hold quarterly meetings throughout the year, with various subcommittee sessions held on an as-needed basis.

Members serve three-year terms with eligibility for up to two consecutive full terms.

Appointments to the DAC are made by the MWCD Board of Directors.

Applicants should send a letter of interest, a resume and any other appropriate materials by Nov. 20 to: John M. Hoopingarner, Executive Director/Secretary, Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District, 1319 3rd St. NW, New Philadlephia, OH 44663, or by e-mail to info@mwcdlakes.com.

For more information call Hoopingarner at (330) 343-6647 or toll-free (877) 363-8500, or by e-mail.

All applicants will be asked to complete an application provided by the MWCD.

During its recent meeting, the MWCD Board of Directors recognized the service of outgoing DAC members Faye Heston of Stark County and Lucinda Zeiher of Belmont County. It also agreed to reappoint Richard Bassetti of Tuscarawas County, Norman Blanchard of Guernsey County and Ronald Sherrer of Ashland County to new three-year terms.

The DAC was created by the MWCD Board of Directors in 1992 to provide an organized public support system for responsive and effective economic development, conservation and recreation programs. Members provide information and guidance to the MWCD on numerous issues as assigned by the Board or identified by the DAC.
